Intel graphics color correction resets automatically

Hi,


I have laptop with Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family

I'm using Windows 7 RC Build 7100(with current updates) and when i adjust color correction within intel graphics properties everything works fine. But when i reboot or re-login brightness and contrast(or everything that i have changed) resets to its default settings. Then when i go to adjust color correction again, i find my previous settings and when i change one of these settings for at least one point, all of my previous settings(which i want to be set all the time) comes into play.

When i go to login screen everything is okay. It looks like something from start up changes brightness and contrast to its default settings.

Have anyone had similar problems? Help please. Thank You.

My solution for mobile intel 4 graphics: "run" msconfig and remove check from "startup", "intel common user interface". I have calibrated my display with an eye-one device.

Currently i am using windows calibrated settings too.

So now in login screen brightness comes from intel drivers, then, after login, it changes to unknown settings and after few seconds changes to calibrated settings.

No fix for it. Intel knows but they simply don't care, because it'd cost too much money to fix the problem that exists in a wide variety of their chipsets, almost all of them to my knowledge. The messed up part is that I paid well over $700 for the computer, and I told the guy at best buy I wanted a laptop that had great graphics for gaming so he directed me to a i series with graphics card built in. SOB. Don't ever trust a salesman, but honestly it wasn't his fault because I kind of asked for it after seeing all the advertising I thought it would be a good choice, I'm upset with him though because he just didn't inform me better. Intel HD is not by any means a gaming graphics card, and for obvious reasons I don't believe should be a default standard in any computer do to reliability issues.

I am not using Windows 7 on that pc anymore, because it was manufactured in 2005 has only 768 RAM.

Too bad that Intel leaves its customers in trouble.

I followed the steps detailed in this thread m11xR2 calibrated LCD ICC profile. When SP1 for Windows 7 was released, I did a clean reinstall, copied my saved color profile xxx.icc to C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color, made it the default profile in "color management" and disabled igfxpers.exe via msconfig.exe. Took me all of two minutes.

I realize this is an old thread, but it comes near the top of a google search, so I just want to share my solution for future readers.

For me, the reason my color calibration kept resetting was that I had installed a screen dimmer on my PC for nighttime reading. During the day, it keeps the screen to "day" mode, which unfortunately was the default color setting, instead of my custom settings. Btw fwiw I was using intel graphics color enhancement to change my settings.

So, if you're using a screen dimmer app, it may be the problem.
