Is there a way to get Windows 7 Starter back on to my netbook?

It sometimes takes several methods to get it to work right depending on your hardware.

The one method that always works for me is using UltraISO trial versions Bootable tab, after loading the ISO using Open on File tab. It will open a windows with the ISO and your stick filled in and type of stick autodetected. Just click Format button first, then Write button.

There was a tutorial for this around here but I can't find it any more. Anyone know?

Don't see a tutorial per se but just my link and suggestion. If I remember correctly it was UltraISO method that was originally in Brink's tutorial, but then it changed to DISKPART method - probably because Ultra is paid program even though you can use it for trial.

Anyway, ask back if you have any problems, because while all other methods have failed at one time or another for me, the UltraISO one never has and it is the one now on my Kingston Data Traveler which previously would boot just by copying over install files. Things change.

I got my HP Mini 110 for christmas, which came with the Windows 7 Starter Edition. I recently tried uninstalling Ubuntu, and accidentally formatted the drive with my Windows 7 on it. Is there any way I can contact Microsoft, give them my computer information, i.e. Model#, etc., and get Windows 7 Starter again? Even if it was my own d.a. fault! lol
Really hoping I can get it back. Is there a way to restore the partition that I deleted with Ubuntu? I didn't back it up manually, but maybe there's an automatic backup of some sort??? And when I got my netbook, I didn't get a recovery disc or a key or anything of use. Please help.

The best thing for you do is call HP support they will send a Recovery DVD. (may be postage fee)

UltraISO consistently shows an error when I try to 'burn' the image to the USB flash drive. Here's the message:
Boot sector: Unknown
WARNING! USB disk created from ISO image may not boot properly!

Then when I go to boot if from my netboot, it gives me an error message that repeats and moves to quickly to copy. It says something about the boot, and the URL for the UltraISO website. Any way to fix this?

are you loading in the ISO at File>Open, then on Bootable tab, choose Write Disk Image?

Make sure your USB flash stick is showing on DIsk Drive, image file is correctly shown, write method is USB-HDD+..

Did it format the HD correctly from Format button? Then what happens when you select Write?

While this method has always worked for me, again it sometimes takes several tries with different methods for others. You can still try the Seven Forums tutorial approach, then Win2Flash.

I did all of that, and it still gave me an error. Going to try this tutorial:
