Is this info on SSD optimization for real?

I have a few questions , just reading around but i saw that it's important to connect your SSD to the correct Intel ports and it seems many people may not do this.

Can be easily overlooked as most replacement SSD's plug right into the connectors where the old drive was.

My second question was the advice below , it sounds crazy.

5. TURN SYSTEM PROTECTION OFF – CAPACITY/ENDURANCE
Turning off System Protection has always been a controversial optimization but it is simpy best for your system. We first learned this a few years ago after receiving a number of complaints from people that their performance was dropping significantly over time. These even included our peers and there were several reports published that condemned SSDs for their deteriorating performance over time. We did not experience that and needed to know why. In examining specific instances, a common characteristic was always that complaints were being received from users who has System Protection turned on, whereas we did not.

Depends how old that article is as SSD's have improved a lot and are much more robust today. Sure turning it off might save you some space and somewhat improve speed but system restore is often the quickest way to save yourself from disasters which otherwise might require many hours/days of trouble shooting and put more stress on both you and the SSD. You can always remove older restore points and CCleaner will make it easy to do so unless you feel confident in your ability to solve problems I would leave it running otherwise taking regular system images using Macrium Reflect or similar can also be a good way to recover from various issues. Also it is a good idea to connect your SSD to the correct port and there are many tutorials here and elsewhere about it

A big problem with Internet articles is that many of them are not dated. You don''t know if they were written yesterday or 5 years ago. In the latter case they may have little or no current relevance. And many such articles are filled with nonsense.

As a means of recovering from system problems System Protection is far from ideal. Regular image backups are better, but most people never make them. For all it's limitations System Protection will be the only form of backup many systems will ever have. And it can save you a great deal of troubleshooting time. Disabling it is not something that should be taken lightly.

I personally have System Restore turned off because I have found it to be unreliable. Instead, I' make weekly images of my OS and programs drive/partition (depending on which computer) using Macrium Reflect Free (here is a good tutorial on how to use Macrium Reflect). I also make a fresh image before making any changes to the computer, such as changing settings, installing new programs, etc. I've found imaging with Reflect to be 100% reliable.

Thanks everybody , i guess i don't understand system protection , when i think of turning off system protection i think of no AV etc....

I do make regular backups and complete images of my system pretty regularly.
