Hi I've been messin w/my partitions on my PC to get the ideal partition order b/c I'm low on space & I have a slow PC (2.75 GB usable RAM)...I ended up makin a separate partition on my HDD for the pagefile b/c it annoys me when Windows makes the pagefile larger w/o notice (Diskspace is at a premium lol).
I was goin to make the pagefile custom sized so it wouldn't change on my C: w/o makin a separate partition BUT I decided just to go w/the whole separate partition idea. Was a separate pagefile partition best OR should I delete the separate pagefile partition & make it a custom size on my C:???
I'm also wondering if the partition order & the type of partition (Logical,Primary etc...) is ideal for my PC or if it needs to be changed???
Thx!

There is nothing to be gained with the pagefile on a seperate partition. I recommend to leave it with the system and let the system manage it.
You actually need only 1 primary partition for the 94MB system partition. All other partitions can be logical. But as long as you do not have more than 3 primaries (plus the extended), there is no harm done.
What are those itty bitty M and N partitions anyhow. If those are for data, make 1 single partition and use folders to subdivide it. That is more efficient.

Ahhh the M: and N: partitions are for Minecraft... I have it separated for me and my brother... Anyways so if I were to leave everything as it is now is it fine OR should I get rid of the pagefile partition and just set it to a custom unchangable size on my C:? Is it bad the way I have it now or can I leave it be?
Oh and I guess I can leave the types of partitions alone then as well. Thx!

Moving 2 Gb of pagefile on any system will not help your space or lack of space on your (C) Drive on hard drive (0). Your Hard Drive is full. To me you have two choices.
1. Remove things from the (C) Drive like photo, personnel files, games, ect.
2. Getting another drive to transfer your desired date to another hard drive.
You will find the Windows 7 doesn't work well with zero (0) % of free space. Windows 7 likes at least 10% free space. I call it wiggle room.

I am actually currently saving up for a HDD lol... It is just for now I am trying to do well with low space... Well I guess I'll change it to the same partition BUT I am going to leave it at a custom size... Thanks for the responses!

You can leave everything as is, but it is not optimal. Messing with system files is never a good idea. And make sure you do not create another primary partition. That would spell trouble (dynamics).
If you get another disk, try to get a SSHD. They perform a bit better than plain HDDs. A 1TB model should not be more than $90 - look for sales. This is an example(but not on sale).

There is something to be said for a pagefile on a separate physical drive, provided it has performance comparable to the system drive. But with a reasonable RAM size the gains are unlikely to be significant. But having the pagefile on a separate partition on the system drive is a bad idea. For optimum performance you want the pagefile as close as possible to other files. A separate partition ensures the opposite.
Windows will never resize the pagefile upward unless it is forced to do this to prevent the commit charge from exceeding the limit. When the commit limit is reached and the pagefile cannot be resized bad things will happen. Likely that will mean an application failure with unpredictable results. Or it could mean a system crash.

Not to worry I set it up so the pagefile partition is removed and I made it a custom sized 2048MB on C:. Idk what I was thinking in the first place lol. Whatever it's all fixed now and I know what HDD I am going to get already but thank you!

If you have hibernate enabled, hiberfil.sys will use a good chunk of space on the drive.
I you do have it enabled and don't need it, you can disable it, at least until you get a bigger HD ...
