Issues logging into Windows.

GilV37,

Please remove any copy of FRST64 or any fixlist.txt from the Desktop! It's too confusing...

Now, get a new copy of the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool Download
Select the 64-bit version.
Save it to your Desktop.

Copy/paste all the text inside the quote box to Notepad (Do not copy the word 'Quote')

DeleteJunctionsInDirectory: C:\Program Files\Windows Defender

In Notepad, click File (at the top), and select: Save As...
In the Save As... prompt, name the file fixlist.txt, and save it to the Desktop <<--- Important!!

NOTE. It is important that FRST64 and the fixlist.txt are in the same location (Desktop) or this will not work.

Run FRST64 and press the Fix button, just once, and wait.
When done, the tool makes a log on the Desktop: Fixlog.txt
Please post Fixlog.txt in your reply.

Also run Farbar Sevice Scanner, checking the same options as before, and post the new FSS.txt in your reply.

Also, check your ability to download.

Are you using IE9, or IE10? Not that it makes much difference.

Have to put on my thinking cap on this one.

Will see you tomorrow.

GilV37,

Hard to figure out. Let's give this a third shot...

Please remove any copy of FRST64 or fixlist.txt from the Desktop, as well as any FSS reports!

The tool was just updated, so, please get a new copy of the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool Download
Select the 64-bit version.
Save it to your Desktop.

Copy/paste the text inside the quote box to Notepad (Do not copy the word 'Quote')

start
DeleteJunctionsInDirectory: C:\Program Files\Windows Defender
end

In Notepad, click File (at the top), and select: Save As...

Please post Fixlog.txt in your reply.

Restart the computer.

Run Farbar Sevice Scanner, checking the same options as before, and post the new FSS.txt in your reply.

Also, check your ability to download.

Would presume that the file name (in red) changes, depending on what you download. Is that correct?
