Solved "Item not found" bug when moving or renaming files/folders

Bells are ringing!!! When you say "and settings and such." What settings and did you know that the problm existed before you changed these setting? What settings have you edited and how?

Nothing much, The install of my browser, IM app, Steam, removal of IE, and the install of a lot of drivers.

You didn't reply when I said: "and did you know that the problem existed before you changed these setting?"

If it's not much as you say then I would definitely start again. The main reason i say that is if the install was corrupted during the process than we have no idea what else is wriong until you come acros another problem. Surely now is the best time to tackle this. I would suggest you re-install windows and do nothing to the new install before opening My Computer and trying to create a new folder. If that works try moving that folder. If that works then make your changes one at a time testing EVERY TIME. Then do the same with your programs, install one at a time and test thoroughly.Time consuming I know but much better done now than find more problems later.
Perhaps some others may have a better idea. Let's hope a few other memebr pick this one up! Wait awhile and see!

Alright!!! After installing a different Windows 7 Ultimate ISO that was acquired through "other" methods, it seems that the error has disappeared :p
Used the key from my own retail box and all is well.

So it does seem as if the original install was corrupted! Can you mark this thread as resolved now please?
