For now you'll need to use an SD card reader to get your photos off.

Luckily for me, all of my cameras are seen as USB drives (attached storage) and require no drivers.

Bye.

I guess my digi cam is a bit "too old" :(

Its probably not worth me buying an SD Card Reader, Kodak are supposed to release some beta drivers "soon" for Kodak cameras etc so I hear

I have a Kodak EasyShare DX4330 ... it works just fine with Win7. Uninstall the EasyShare, then plug your camera into a USB port .... then turn on the camera.

I use Picasa 3 to send and share photos.

I have an EasyShare Z710. I was able to get it to work in 2 steps...

#1 - when I plugged it in, it would detect as a Kodak Z710, but, the driver wouldn't install successfully. I had to go into device manager and change the driver to MTP USB Device. Once I did that, the system recognized it normally as a Kodak Z710 each and every time I hooked it up and turned it on.

#2 - the Kodak software didn't seem to like Windows 7 without compatibility mode, but, oddly enough, when I put it into compatibility mode, it came up with a message asking me if I wanted to turn it off? Anyhow, I set it to Vista compatibility and the issues are gone!

Best of luck!

I don't know if this helps, but my Windows 7 did not recognize the fact that I had my Kodak EasyShare M763 camera connected to the USB port, even though I had installed the driver software with it. My solution was this: unplug the camera, uninstall the software, and plug the camera back into the USB. Windows loaded its own driver, and now it's working fine:D

The same thing happened to me with my Kodak EasyShare C513 and the software it came with. I tried downloading the latest version software but it kept prompting that my OS is not supported. Until I uninstalled the Kodak software and simply plugged the camera and it was installed by Windows properly. This is also true for cellphones. I connected my Nokia 6300 and Windows downloaded and installed the proper drivers.

I tried to post this earlier but I don't think it ever got posted. So doing it again....

I have an DX4530.

I had an XP computer and I had Kodak's Easyshare software installed on it. And, while I never liked the software, at least it did install and it "worked".

I now have the same camera but a new computer. Win7. No matter what I try, the software will not work.

I've read this forum. I've installed, uninstalled and re-installed the software. I tried, as others suggested, uninstalling the software, then plugging the camera in. I've tried repeatedly. Nothing has worked.

So, here are my findings and conclusions:

I never did like the Kodak software. I found it complex and confusing. So, it's no great loss that I can't get it to work now.

Take ALL pictures on an SD card (provided your computer is new enough to have a card reader) and then "open" the SD card with some other software.

As long as you have your camera preferences set to take pictures onto an SD card and your computer has an SD card reader then forget about the Kodak software. Kodak's "EasyShare" software is not, and never has been, so EASY!

BTW - why is it I copy/paste something using Win7/Microsoft Works 9 it always changes the font??

I have a kodak easyshare m1033. I tried just plugging in the device and letting the computer find the driver with no luck. Tried installing the latest kodak software no luck there either.

My fix:
uninstall the kodak easyshare software
uninstall the kodak camera
unplug the camera
install the Media Feature Pack for Windows 7 N with Service Pack 1 and Windows 7 KN with Service Pack 1 (KB968211)
restart the computer
plug in the camera, the computer installed a driver and was able to pull it up and see the pictures and transfer.

Hope this helps someone that is having the same issues.
