laptop screen got blank/black, only start with low resolution in Safe

hi to all experts,

My laptop ( Hp Compaq 6820s) suddently got blank/black while using smoothly, after that it shows only in external Lcd, and only starts in Safe Mode with low/poor resolution, it does not start normally and got blank. Any guidance? ..,.,regards

Hi, naf112. Have you checked your Graphics Card or does it have a Blue Screen (DSOD) which says it shuts down to prevent damage or does it suddenly go black? If it has a BSOD it might have a problem with a installed app or update, but if it suddenly blanks out, try pressing F8 Repeatedly once the PC starts without reaching the time Windows logo would pop out, once it appears, you need to restart again and after you got in the Advanced Boot Options, try pressing on "Fix your Computer" or anything with Fix (Not Boot Fix) it could help you on the problem, if not, try checking your Graphics Card, it could have a problem with a broken Graphic Card, if anything happens Please Consult your PC's Manufacturer or a Professional, Thank you

Try updating or reinstalling the Display drive in Device Manager.

Try first to Enable hardware auto-updating via Windows Update (Step 3) then Check for Windows Updates, install all Important and Optional Updates as there may be drivers as well as other important patches needed.

If that doesn't resolve it make sure you have the latest version from the PC model's Support Downloads webpage. Drivers & Software for HP Compaq 6820s Notebook PC - HP Support Center. The only driver available for that model is 32 bit Vista from 2007,.

You can also try a System Restore to before the problem happened.

If this is still the crappy factory install, then you're long overdue for a Clean Reinstall Windows 7 after which you'll know for sure the problem is hardware if it persists. But you must follow the steps closely which always results in a perfect install as long as you do.
