My Windows 7 basically blew up and is no longer working. I tried a one-key recovery as well which utterly failed. As a last resort I tried using Windows 7 recovery disks sent by Lenovo. There are 4 disks 1,2,3, and an additional disk. Everything seemed to be going somewhat smoothly, although slow up until disk 3. The screen shows

"Current Item: ApplyOs"
"Recover process is running please don't remove your power adapter."

It's been like this for days. The blue bar load bar under it seems to still be running. Tried again, this time with 4 different disks sent by Lenovo. The first 3 disks went a bit faster, but the end result was still the same, getting stuck on "ApplyOs". Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Is it possible that there's something wrong with the BIOS settings that's causing the installation to get stuck? Don't have a disk on me and would rather go over the other solutions first before picking one up.

i can tell you i recently tried to restore from the onekey recovery and it failed , i then tried to recover to factory from the discs i created when i first got the laptop, that failed also, the message i was getting was that it failed to find a file needed for recovery, or words along those lines.
in the end i did a clean install i activated the os using my code from the bottom of the laptop and then i added all the drivers from the lenovo site for my model. it is back to how it was minus the recovery partition that lenovo used for the onekey recovery, the thing i will be doing to get round that is to use macrium to do an image backup, which is better that the onekey factory restore because i wont have to reinstall everything from scratch.
this may be the easiest solution for you providing you can back up any files you don't want to lose although when you say it blew up that suggests there is nothing you want to/ can save

Can I use a "EaseUs Todo Backup" recovery if I don't have an OS

Tried almost everything on my Z570 Ideapad and nothing seems to work. Does anyone know if using a recovery disk with my friend's backup files would work if i can't boot my operating system?

Hi boohbah -- I recently got the same Lenovo and was considering a Clean Install. Like yourself my OneKey Recovery failed. Preparing for the future, I read some threads on several sites about if a clean install is done, they can't get the wifi to work. Did you run across that when you did your install? Thanks,

no the wifi worked fine, however i think i already had the wifi adapter drivers backed up on my external, it would be a good idea to download the drivers for your model and store them for when you clean install.
just in case.

How did you do that? Does the Lenovo site have all the drivers in one place for the Z570?
