Local area connection

Helloo! First post here!

My problem is the following:
I am already connected to the internet via a Broadband connection, yet my local area connection appears in the list too, saying there is no connection available trough it. I would like to disable the local area connection but still keep my broadband connection going.

As you see in the picture, the icon shows that the internet connection isn't active and that annoys me, so i would like to make in such way that it only shows the broadband connection and not the network connection, so the icon looksa s it should look.

Thanx :)

Open Start, type "network connections" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Right click the Local Area Connection and select disable.

Unfortunately that disables the broadband connection also, and the internet is no more.

It looks to me like you have some settings left over from your old connections in your IPv4 properties window so it's showing up as a secondary network.
