Local Area Network is not showing in my Dell Inspiron N5010

Local Area Network is not showing in my Dell Inspiron N5010. I have manually installed Windows 7 ultimate 32bit from my CD because my lap came with DOS OS. I have installed network driver, ie RTL8103T Ethernet Controller from dell site, but still lan icon is not appearing. Please help me.. I am trying to fix this issue since 6 hours...

Try the following.Right click on computer and select manage.A window will pop up and choose device manager from the left pane.From the Device Manager window click an icon on the top panel (if you hover your mouse the icon will say "scan for hardware changes").Click on that and let windows choose the relevant drivers for your network adapters.

Hi..thanks for the reply....i done what u suggested...now i got a message "Ddevice driver software was not succesfully installed". but realtek Ethernet Controller Driver for windows 7 is showing in my control panel under programs and features...

Seems like corrupted installation of the Ethernet drivers.Try to uninstall the said drivers,restart your laptop and then go to device manager and repeat the step of "scan for hardware changes".
