Lock Gadgets to Desktop?

I can not find a way to lock the gadgets to the desktop... It would also be nice if I could prevent them from showing options (close, config, etc). I ask because each time I visit my parents, the gadgets have been moved around or some of them are missing...

Any suggestions?
