Now that you have deleted the bridging connection, can W7 ping XP (doesn't matter if it's a LAN pining a wireless), if both machines are on the same vlan (should be if you config them correctly) then they should be able to be pinged.

I would turn off both computers and unplug the modem and router power cords then first plug power back into modem then back into the router then turn on 7 machine then xp machine and see what you get please follow that order

You know the XP pc requires a User-name and Password to log on to, and also it does not belong to me it is my mothers pc, anyway could this have anything todo with why I can not access it???

You need to not have the connections bridged of anything.

Your Xp wireless connectons is Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection 2:

Where is "Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection"?

First, get the W7 desktop connected to the router and make sure it is working fine. This means surfing the net.

Second, get the Xp wireless connection connected to your wireless network, Make sure it can log on and surf the net also.

Although accessing the net is not essential for file and printer sharing you might as well get this out of the way so you won't have to ask later.

Try it and come back telling us it's "done".
