Losing Internet Connection

I have two computers w/Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit that are exactly alike with the exception of the TV tuner cards. The one w/one Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 card runs perfectly. Both running wired connections, with a new N150 router

The system with the internet issue has an
ASUS E35M1-M PRO AMD E-350 APU (1.6GHz, Dual-Core) AMD Hudson M1 Micro ATX Motherboard/CPU Combo
DIAMOND ATI Theater HD 750 Tuner Card TVW750PCIE PCI-Express x1 Interface
DIAMOND ATI Theater HD 750 USB TVW750USB USB 2.0 Interface
Western Digital Caviar Black WD7502AAEX 750GB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s Drive (2nd drive w/clean install)

At first the only way I could get internet was to start in Safe Mode w/Networking, then restart the machine. I updated the RealTek LAN drivers, graphics drivers, both TV Tuner drivers, and Windows. One day it randomly installed the IEEE 1394 bus controller drivers, and another on board controller, but I don't know which one. I happened to be walking by and saw the tail end. After that it drops it, sometimes between the network & internet, and sometimes between the LAN card & the network, but you can shut down, wait about a minute and start normally and it will pick it up again.

If it drops between the network and internet, I can disable and re-enable LAN card and it will pick it back up. However, if it drops between the LAN & network, disabling the LAN will lock up the system. It is set to a Home Network, but when it drops, it changes to a public unmanaged network.

I have not updated the bios or the chipset, would updating either or both of these help this issue? If so, which one should I start with?

This system is only about 6 weeks old. I have had two hard drives on this system, and it has happened on both installs. I have updated the drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled them. My other machine is running the same driver versions as this machine.

There are two things listed on the motherboards website I have not done, which is the bios update and a chipset update. I am a PC novice so I am a little leary of the bios update, but I will do it if I can't figure something else out.
