lost photos

I have a lot of photos on cd and memory stick that I put there a long time ago using xp now in windows7 I cant show them I have tried many times to open with different programs. I can open the folder and they appear to be there.

What program did you use to put pictures on when using XP?

I think it was ACDSee 6

Do you remember what format you saved them to?
Are all your drives up to date?
Any yellow shield signs in Device Manager?

all saved as jpeg. no yellow in device manager

Do it from Windows Explorer as long as there jepg's you don't need a third party prog. Just copy and paste, drag and drop.

Drag some of the files to you C drive. You might create a new folder for this say TempImages. Right click the jpeg and make sure they are not read only. Also check the date modified and make sure it is not in the future. Sounds daft but important!
