Have you verified that only one program is making backup?

Somewhere on the forum a couple of days ago a member had (2) programs making backups.
One he/she intended and the other came with another program that he/she didn't know came included with a backup add-on. They both were making backups.

Good point and yes I did made sure no other backup software is there.

As far as I know defrag programs do not actually do a snapshot of the drive, they just move fragmented data to an unused part of the drive then rearrange the data & put it back where it should be.

You mentioned that the computer is part of a domain. Are the backups supposed to be done on each computer work station or just at the main server only. If all backups are done at the server then the backup is being duplicated at the work station.

I know how defrag work. Because of how storagecraft backup the drive by block or sector level. If the drive has been defrag, it means all the block were changed. Hence the unusually large snapshot.

The backup were done on both server and workstation separately. The server are fine. It's the backup snapshot of the workstation that is not

This problem is getting beyond my knowledge, but I suspect this is something to do with the back up software that's causing this problem.

Have you checked all the optional settings in the back up program to make sure they are correct. You could try uninstalling the back up program & reinstalling it to see if that changes things. Also some programs have a repair facility, so check to see if one is available & if so run that.
