Solved Malwarebytes 3 conflicts

Hello Folks. I replaced the premium versions of MBAM & MBAEX with the new MB3 Premium.
I have since noticed occasions when my processor is running at 100% which is not something that ever happened before.
You can see what else I am running and what MB I had previously.
I put MB3 into MSSE exclusions and vice versa.
Are there now conflicts and should I scrap anything?

Hello spaceman mate am no expert and am also a little confused as to what you are asking as a Google of the MBAEX came up with nothing and MB3 show up that it was an Apple software and I know the MBAM is Malwarebytes so what I don't understand is what is the relationship between MBAM and those other two soaftwares

All I can say is my ex partner used to be iTunes and other Apple products mad and I was frequently undoing the wretched state of the Windows OS. The only thing I can think of is that one or the other is running automatically and hogging the CPU.

For several months now, MB3 has been causing various issues for many people. The general consensus is the folks at Malwarebytes pushed out a new product with too many new features way too soon. MB2 is supposed to lose support in June 2017 but as of now MB 2.2.1.1043 is still available for download from Malwarebytes. A lot of people I know have gone back to MB 2.x and individually installed MB anti exploit and MB anti-ransomware.

Latest Version of Malwarebytes

If you want to uninstall MB3 and go back to MB2 for the next few months, suggest you follow the uninstall instructions posted on the Malwarebytes Forum. Hope some of this info helps.

Thank-you; I have subsequently discovered what you have pointed out: MB3 is too much, too soon; I have certainly been forced to spend a lot of time trying to sort it out. I uninstalled MSE completely, as I felt maybe it was conflicting and I was also uncertain if both were necessary. It seemed to me that MB3 was such a comprehensive suite I could maybe do without MSE but I didn't know and was hoping one of you folks might alert me when you read my post. However, just to be on the safe side, while I was waiting, I tried to re-install MSE and it would not allow the 'Real-Time' element of the suite to activate. It seems, having two real-time malware scanners running is no longer possible but who is blocking what remains a mystery. As it happens, everything has now settled down, and all appears to be well. Windows Firewall remains in place and MSE continues to run daily scans after up-dating, so I'm sort of half-happy. Any comments welcome.

Lots of real time and free. I do advise folks though not to touch AVG, Baidu, MuckAfee, or Comodo (only because the latter can be an awful nagger. The picks I would suggest are Bitdefender, Avast, Avira, Panda, Sophos, and to others MSE but as you have problems with it - no.

I have tested these on my desktop testing machine and found them all really quite acceptable though I would still say use MBAM and SAS as add on scanners.

I have to confess to a degree of ignorance here: what is missing from MB3? Do I need additional security (beyond Windows Firewall which is running). Is that what your list is for? Should I add an additional layer, and if so, precisely what do I need if MSE is uninstalled?

If you remove MSE, which is a anti virus program, I recommend installing another anti virus program of your choice. Their are many to choose from.

Could any of you suggest why MSE real-time protection refuses to turn on? In the settings menu it shows it as 'on' but the 'Home' page shows the big red X.

I would just go with another mate as Jack says and there are plenty in that link/s I sent you and those that I have tested out and would use myself if I were not using a paid for AV.

I'm not sure what MSE home page has got to do with your computer. Do you have MSE installed on your computer?
If so have you updated the it and run a scan?

Hi Jack. Yes, I re-installed MSE once I realised MB3 had a reputation for processor maxing.
It installed fine except Real-time Protection is indicated as 'off' on the home page, but 'on' in the settings menu.
It updates and runs scans every night as always.
I still don't know if I need more than MB3, a firewall, and Hitman-Pro (for luck).

MBAM premium 3.0.????? has antivirus built into it MSE you should uninstall and also turn off windows defender too for good measure.

Otherwise go back to mbam 2.2.1.1043 and keep mse.

What I have is Malwarebytes Premium 3.0.6, which comprises Web Protection, Exploit Protection, Malware Protection and Ransomeware Protection. Defender has not been on in many years, but Windows Firewall is running. I simply do not comprehend precisely what MSE offers, and whether MB3 already supplies it.

Hi US1,
MBAM >>3<< - is having teething troubles, IT IS being developed for W10, not W7
(thats why MBAM >>2<< was advised earlier)
MSE will/should NOT run if the above is installed
Windows Firewall is required if either of the above is running

I understand that you have the PAID version of MBAM, But whether or not MBAM decide to put more effort into the issues on W7 is up to them, nothing we or you can do about to it apart from uninstalling..

If you have MBAM 3.0 xxx installed, it is turning off MSE.

Hi,
For the record you have been using windows defender
MSE just has it's own version and windows built in version is disabled when you install mse.

Any properly designed antivirus program should disable windows defender and mbam 3.0.??? should do that but it should also be verified as well so no conflicts/ wasted resources are happening.

Yes Uninstall mse then make sure WD is indeed disabled if you want to keep using mbam 3.0.????
