Memory Usage Goes Up Gradually

My Memory Usage Goes Up Gradually. when I start the windows , after some hours the amount of free memory space , goes down. this falling, continues every hours and after 3 days memory usage goes upper than 85 percent.

I already close all softwares and kill all unnecessary processes in task manager , but the memory free space , doesn't increase. I must shutdown the computer and after that the memory goes to normal but again after some hours it starts to goes up and up ...

I also used the memory optimizing and freeing softwares like (Memory Booster Gold - RAM Saver Pro) , but they didn't help me.

I have TWO 1-Gigabyte DDR-400 Transcend Ram
(I have these memories for 2 years)

Physical Memory: 2000 mb
Paging File: 2000 mb
Virtual Memory: 6000 mb

any trick ? :geek::D

Many applications "leak" memory. Browsers are notorious. My firefox starts @ 85 Mb, but after 8 hours is somewhere around 450 Mb. While not normal it is inevitable. That coupled with the fact that you dont reboot often, and have minimum ram, this is a problem I dont think you can resolve.

The things you can do to minimize the problem is add ram, and reboot more often.

Good luck

reboot more often
but for some reasons like downloading i must run my computer for more than 3 days

yes - I dont reboot often but I have this problem recently - and there isnt any problem before this

is it "free" ram thats disappearing, or "available"?
I don't really know -
here is a screenshot from the start of reboot (with no problem)

Because the computer started less than one hour ago, I must wait some hours so I'll upload a screenshot for the problem , some hours later.

please do, I suspect that its actually windows doing what it is meant to, via Superfetch, but i could be wrong.

If you look at that screen shot you uploaded, you can see under physical memory that you have 1318GB "available" and 533 "free" this difference is important, basically Windows loads your most commonly used applications into the RAM for faster access, this is the "Cached" figure. this is what causes your "Free" to go down, the important figure however is "Available" because if a program is loaded that needs more memory, then it will dump the "Cached" and use the "Available"

I hope thats clear enough for you... basically if "Free" is disapearing it isn't an issue, if "Available" is then it is

ok - here is a screenshot for after 8 hours (no program runnung in the background) :

it is obvious that :
free section decreased too much (sometimes it reaches to zero)
and the available section decreased a little (available memory decresed about 110mb)

I'll upload even more screenshots in upcoming hours...

i've seen enough, there is nothing wrong with that picture, you have 1202 AVAILABLE that is the important number, the "Free" is unused RAM, which is useless, what Windows has done is it has used Superfetch to filll your RAM with your most used programs, to make them load faster, Unused RAM is wasted RAM, the Available is what is important, if the Cached Ram is needed (ie what superfetch is using) Windows will free it up, your system is working as its meant to

that slight decrease in Available is quite normal, its probably Indexing and such kicking in, these tend to start a little after Windows has started

no there is a problem - because decreasing the amount of available memory , continues and like I said before , after about 3 days , I cant do anything but restarting the windows. also when the available memory goes below 15% in the third day , there is an error appears, when I want to access some folders...
(I will upload a picture of that error in a day or two from now when it will appear)

look at this picture that I upload now (also there is no softwares runnung in background) :

the amount of available ram decreased from 1200 to 700 after 21 hours.

and one more thing : Is it possible to disable the Superfetch ?

also I am going to scan my system with an anti-spyware software after that...

SO you are saying that it went down from 1200 to 700 in 19 hours. THATS PERFECTLY NORMAL. In fact better than normal. Mine goes down hundreds of megs in as little as 6 hours.

BTW after 19 hours you still are only using 64 % of your total ram. see lower right corner of your task manager screenshot

Why is it that important?

There is really nothing to worry about. Your system behaves as I would expect. And DO NOT DISABLE SUPERFETCH. That would either create a mess or at best slow down your system. And it does not look as if there were a virus problem - but one never knows. A scan does not hurt.

My RAM usage is at 58% right now and I have been running for for four days without a reboot. Win 7 manages memory very well. It will clear some memory when necessary. What you are describing seem normal to me.

I scanned my whole system with avast 5 complete scan and nothing changed...

I am worry because now after 1 day and 15 hours the amount of my available memory reaches to 200 and at this point I can't do anything but restart the windows

when I captured the screen by Prtsc key for takng a screenshot of task manager , It appears like this :

at this point, when I try to access any of my drives or folders , the following error appears :

c:\ is not accessible.
Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.

after restart , I am going to scan with an antispyware...

I also scanned my system with 3 different Anti-Spywares and They did nothing...

one more thing that is maybe important :

This problem started for me about 6 days ago and that's the time I upgraded my Internet security (Avast 5) from 5.0.507 to 5.0.545.
(But in processes menu, it shows that Avast only uses 5mb memory)

The internet security (+antivirus) is the only software that always running in the background - Do you think that my problem is from that ?

When you get this saturation, what are actually the processes that use all the RAM (look in Task Manager > Processes tab. But make sure you click the " Show processes from all users"). If Avast shows only 5MBs of usage, it cannot be the culprit. It may also help to observe the color bar in Resource Monitor > Memory Tab.

need to know what process working background and what process eat memory that much.some strangers might eat up your memory by pretending as a system process. Just a thought

That is a relatively normal picture. And the top Host Process at 43.6 MBs is modest - mine is 76.5 MBs right now. It is really hard to see anything abnormal in your processes. Even 67% RAM usage in a 2GB system is not abnormal.
If anything, I would keep an eye on this Avant browser which is not really a neccessity but a convenience.
