Mic Quality problem

Hi all, my mic works fine on Skype. It sounds loud and clear on Skype but when I am trying it on Voice Recorder and from the sound options in Control Panel it is very low when I play it back. I have the Microphone and Boost slider set all the way. And I have the sliders set up all the way on VIA HD Audio Deck(recently updated). Is there something I am missing? Thanks.

It doesn't say "Playback" anywhere on the VIA HD Audio Deck for Microphones, it just shows:
REC Vol
Speaker Output
REC Vol
Speaker Output
DB

They are all the way up.
It's strange to me that it works absolutely fine on Skype, I checked the settings on there and they are max but so are the settings in my control panel but it doesn't give the same results.

Update windows, still no dice, any help please?
