MIDI/Sonar X3

Hey,
Basically i've recently became a musician, I have Cakewalks Sonar X3 Producer edition,
Basically, My friends a qualified sound engineer, he's gave me some tips etc, He's also gave me 4 of his condensor mic's to use, Basically, i've got my semi acoustic ibanez, This will be purchased soon M-Audio M-Track MKII USB Audio Interface - Kenny's Music
So thats me got everything for a basic setup, What im not too sure about, is how do i connect my semi acoustic to the box through midi? Is it a guitar jack into my semi acoustic with a midi adaptor on the other end and into the box which then connects to my pc through USB along with the mics?

MIDI is programmed, synth, sequencing etc. You can input MIDI with an electic piano or similar - just the note info, the actual sound/instrument is generated in software. You can also input the MIDI note data manually via pc keyboard. Your semi guitar would prob be best input as an analog track (like vocals) to get the 'live' sound.

Ahh right i see i see, ive just always done it the old fashioned way...pub..guitar..mic xD! never recorded or anything like that so this is new to me! So, the box that i linked to in the OP, would that suffice for my "analog" guitar and mic?

AFAIK, a USB interface is how people DI their guitar (direct injection). I've seen chat on this forum about delay (aka latency) that occurs when a mic or instrument is plugged straight into the pc's onboard sound card, and a USB interface is usually suggested as the solution. The sound processing on a motherboard, and its associated delay causes a lot of people a lot of headaches, although not all systems have this problem.

The spec sheet mentions electric guitar and zero latency.
