monitor dilemma

ok so i have this problem i have a 290x gpu i have a i5 3570k 8g of ram and im looking at getting a new monitor ,should i be looking at the 3440x 1440p resaloution what im asking is what is the max resolution could this card handle i was looking at lashing out on the 341ck but not sure if my rig can handle this beast

R9 290X's Maximum Resolution is 2560 x 1600 and yes it can handle 4K resolution, it's what the card is aimed for.

Thanks so much for your info so if you were me and had $1,400 to invest on a new monitor what would you do i should add i only play skyrim and watch movies but i have fading eye site so clearer is better .Would i be better looking for a 4k monitor or would the card handle the Acer Predator

I spent 350. for an AOC and 1ms not to mention G-Sync ready
Spent 250. for asus 1ms
Both are 144Hz and 24"

The resolution the op referred too doesn't even kick in unless using a big screen t.v. or several monitor covering that span

ThrashZone we are saying the same thing just with different words.
4ms response time to me is slow for a monitor that cost that much money.
My economical Asus VE278Q has a response time of 2ms.

I'm surly not a monitor expert but I having trouble understanding why that monitor comes at such a high price tag.

Of course I always willing to learn what the reason are for the high price.

ok my new asus arrived today and now what cable will i get the best results from please ,and what is what i see no labels

ok so it seems my gpu R9 290X ONLY HAS HDMI AND DVI DUAL LINK but im confused at how im supposed to get 144hz as its only showing 60hz with hdmi 1 and 2 and as it has no socket for dvi dual link im stuffed lol some one help please.

its ok dont panic everyone dumb arse me didnt see the dust cover over the display port all is sweet and cruisning at 144hz
