mouse question wont update settings

I am trying to install a remote new mouse wont update settings when I plug it in my usb port ?

"Remote" mouse? Not sure what you mean by remote mouse.

And also not sure of what settings you are expecting to be updated.

Does the mouse work when you plug it in? Are you replacing a mouse that does not work?

Windows already knows how to control basic features of any mouse. You only need special drivers to enable any special features (like extra buttons) of a mouse. If your drivers are updated, there should be no need to update settings.
