Hi Thomas

Could you provide us with the make and model of your mouse?
Also, does it occur only with CS or with other games/apps?

Regards

I'm using microsoft intelli explorer mouse 3.0 at 500hz and im more than sure its not mouse issue, this problem appeared only after i installed windows 7 (32bit). I didnt played other shooter games so far, so i cant say, but with other style games i dont feel any strange sensitivity problems.. like normally using desktop i never felt that my sensitivity increased or get lower
I'm using W7 32 bit ultimate

P.S was trying different usb port, mouse fixes..
my friend have this problem too, hes using another gaming razer mouse

You see.. this guy using Logitech gaming mouse, and software for it, and solved problem via soft for his mouse, so it wont help me. I tried software for my mouse too, but there is no custom options.. only mouse key bindings.
:(

BTW, hes sensitivity goes slower, so its too can be different problem

Guys, im with the same problem. My mouse is a Razer Deathadder.

The sensitivity acelerates from nowhere about 1 second, than returns to the original.

Anyone knows what to do?

Thanks

Hmm no never had any problems here with the 2x Deathadder's i've used. The first one was the very first version of the Deathadder and only replaced it after 2 years because the MOUSE1 button more or less died on me. But the Deathadder Respawn i'm using now is great in everything on Win 7 x64.

Did you make sure you are using the most up to date driver's and firmware?

Latest are...
Driver Version - 3.0.1
Firmware Version - 2.41 (For Respawn) & V1.35 (For older model)

Ok i finally got this bug happen to me after one of the recent CSS updates. I found out about a fix through the Steam CSS forums called the MarkC Windows 7 fix Windows Mouse Things: The MarkC Windows 7 Mouse Acceleration Fix

Been working fine for me again ever since i applied this fix.

Oh and btw it's to do with mouse acceleration (Windows one that is. And it kicking in again in the background for some reason). Basically they recommend having your windows mouse sensitivity set at 6 out of 11. I also have my Razer sensitivity set to 6 and also ingame at 6 (This seems to work and feel great for my own personal use)

Good luck anyway and i hope you get it sorted ;)

Big thread on the Steam forums about this if any are interested Request for information- mouse sensitivity with high dpi mice - Steam Users' Forums

Oh well fair enough but as i said it did for me. And i'm 100% sure of this because i did nothing else what so ever to my PC that day only applied that fix and no problems here, everything perfect.

Also it's been known to work for thousands of other people so maybe it's something else on your end. Obviously one fix doesn't and can't work for everyone. That would be impossible with so much different hardware/software around.

In that Steam forum thread i linked as well there have been multipul fixes posted but the MarkC one was said to work for the majority.

Anyway i was only trying to help other's out in any way i could...

Exact same problem

I've tried just about everything. From the CPL, Cheese and Mark's mousefixes, to using my mouse with and without the mouse drivers, to messing around with different registry settings. I've messed around with different DPI and windows and Logitech setpoint settings in endless combinations. Nothing makes a difference from what I can tell. I haven't found one thing that works. The problem doesn't go away when using a Razer Deathadder.

The one thing I do notice is it's particularly bad when I'm in mumble. My sensitivity doubles, making it impossible to turn corners without somehow aiming way past where I intend.

Yep I have same problem, couldn't find any solving for it. I use win 7 32, i tried 2 different deathadders (optic senzor), now i've bought a qpad 5k (laser senzor) and still have it. I've spent hours and hours googleing and searching for simillar problems, and yet, no answer.

For sure the problem is the windows, but i can not imagine what might cause this.
