Solved Move the installer disk info to the harddrive in Win7

I simply don't know how or if the installer disk programs (MSI for me) can be moved to the hard drive. This would be helpful for things like running the core open routine which I've only done once.

In general yes you can run 99% of installers from a hard drive specialy now as a lot are downloads anyway

Didn't get a notification on this. Maybe I didn't select to subscribe the thread.
I will try to simply make a folder and move the items on the installer disk to the thumb drive or perhaps
HD. I'd try the thumb drive first.

As per my post it should work ok but your not being specific about what installer

This can remain marked solved though I don't know how the marking got on. I just did the

procedure. The installer disk and it's utilities is for the MSI 880gm.


It went smoothly and the extras I wanted install shortcuts to the desktop.


Looking for core unlock was labelled BIOS adjustment or some such and so difficult to find. Temps shoot up pretty high with an Athlon reappearing as a Phenom II x4 B50.


I changed it back down since the AMD program which monitors temps dipped into the red under a load from

running Handbrake recodes.
