MS Office Compatibility pack question

Hello!

I use MS Office 2003. Hypothetically, if I install office compatibility pack and after installation save some *.doc with my word 2003, will that file be saved as a 2007 doc, thus it can't be open with some other word 2003 (without compatability pack installed)?

No, it can open a file that is from office 2007 and save them, but will save new files as 2003 formats.

Tnx. Friend of mine saved a doc file (comp pack installed) which couldn't be opened on some other machine, so we thought perhaps the comp pack is the reason.

Shouldn't be the cause, we run it at work and dont have any issues.
