SP2 for Vista did a lot in regards to performance.
Agreed. And don't forget what SP2 did for XP.
Not so much actually....
My memories of SP2 weren't that great, the improvements only came if you slipstreamed the disk and did a repair/upgrade install. Otherwise, SP2 actually slowed down XP.
Remembering when all the RTM vs SP benchmarks showed up, it was't till SP3 that XP got back to the performance of XP RTM.
