My netbook an't connect to the internet. Stuck in "Waiting for..."

Hi guys, I can't connect to my internet using a LAN connection in my home.

It seems that there's something wrong with the connection though i don 't really know what it is. can you help me?

Asus is my netbook and Windows 7 is my OS. Device Manager says that I have no problems with my ethernet device. no question mark beside it and the networks and sharing center in control panel indicates that i am connected in the internet through LAN. but every time i am attempting to browse the internet using firefox or google chrome, it is stuck in "waiting for (website i want to browse).. state.

what seems to be the problem here guys? I tried to do ipconfig in cmd. ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew.
but nothing happens. i even reformatted my netbook but nothing has changed.

please help me guys.. thanks.

can you supply an ipconfig /all output.

trying to ping 8.8.8.8

then try to ping www.google.com

Hiya pal, and welcome to the forums

1st things first, maybe try rebooting your router and also move the Ethernet cable to another port on the router just incase

unplug it especially if you don't have access to the web GUI.


also post your IPconfig /all output.

Here is an easy way to post the ipconfig /all output.

Click on Start then Run or press Window key (next to left Ctrl key) +R and paste the following into the Run box, exactly as shown, including double quotes:

cmd /c "ipconfig /all > postme.txt & ping yahoo.com >> postme.txt & notepad postme.txt & del postme.txt"

and press ENTER.

A file will open in Notepad. Please copy and paste the contents here. Close the Notepad window and the file will be deleted and the Command Prompt window will also close.
