Need a hand; USB Joysticks all dead after sleep mode

Been fighting with this one for several days now and can really use some help please.

Basically what's happening is that the 3 USB joysticks connected to my W7 64bit brand new system are installed properly, calibrated, and working perfectly until W7 goes to sleep (display 15 min...CPU 30min).
When the system comes back up again after a key press or mouse click (both working BTW) all 3 controllers are stone cold dead.
It's notable that I have researched the manufacturer's end of this extensively and have completely discounted their drivers and software as the issue source. The problem can be replicated using the on board W7 controller drivers with the manufacturer's software uninstalled completely from the system. Same result. Perfect controllers before sleep, dead as a doornail after sleep.
I've tried just about everything I know to isolate the issue.
Someone suggested going into power management on the USB hubs in device manager and UNCHECK "Allow computer to turn off this device". This sounds like it might be a solution but when I try to uncheck the hubs, the check mark keeps coming back on me. Windows won't allow me to do this. Am I missing something that I'm not doing that will allow me to make this change ?
Anyway, if anyone has any ideas on this issue, I'll really appreciate your time and effort in advising me.

Try updating you video card driver it may work as I have seen it fix crashes associated with sleep.

Could be your USB power saving settings(?)
Go to Control Panel - Power Options - click Change Plan Settings (for your current power plan) - Change Advanced Power Settings. Expand USB - USB selective suspend settings, change setting to disable.

Tried this with no effect. Is it possible to deselect the option I mentioned in my initial post in the USB hub power management and have that deselect hold instead of come back as I indicated?
I'm completely puzzled by this and can't figure out why the option is available but won't remain changed????

If I plug in an MS Sidewinder 2, Windows says “Installing device driver for MS Sidewinder 2”. So that’s the driver loaded for that particular joystick. Then I run Game Controller panel and see it responds to movements of the joystick. I place the PC into sleep mode. I awaken it, the MS Sidewinder still responds. Just to make sure we are clear on that, the MS Sidewinder still responds after sleep mode.
When you plugged in the CH controllers, you got CH drivers even if you have yet to install control manager.
It is a problem of the CH driver included with windows (probably unchanged since win98). The driver should listen to sleep and wake-up event messages and close and reopen the file associated with the USB port. USB ports are “Files” in Windows.
I have left as nice a comment as possible on CH Hangar but it seems to have elicited more of the same fudging: ”try reformatting your hard disk, have you tried a new haircut, let me know if you find anything, I’d love to fix any problems” etc.
To anyone that spent hours/days/years on this, I’m sorry but CH had you chasing your tails.
