Need advice on which monitor to go for please

Hi,

So i'm going to Scan tomorrow to buy a new 24" monitor but not sure which one to go for to be honest. Some experts on here might be able to help out here i hope.

Anyway these are the one's in the price range i've been looking at...


Scan.co.uk: Iiyama 24" LCD Monitor - Prolite E2407HDS-B1

Scan.co.uk: BenQ 24" LCD Monitor - G2420HD

Scan.co.uk: Viewsonic 24" VX2439WM LCD Monitor

I have gone for these because i want the HDMI port, but only the last one doesn't support HDCP which i'm not sure if it's needed or not. If it's best to have a monitor with HDCP support then which of the first two to go for and why?

I'm fed up of looking through the specs and wondering why i should go with which one so i'm here asking you good people to give me the push in the right direction to the right one

My personal recommendation would be the Viewsonic as it has the best Contrast ratio of them all.

HDCP stands for High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection, a copy protection scheme to eliminate the possibility of intercepting digital data.... ??? not sure why you would need this..

There I have said it and I am sticking by my recommendation.

Thanks for clearing the "HDCP" up. I know i could of found out what it stood for and what it did but i just wasn't sure if it would be needed or not.

So, i think you've made my mind up for me with the "best Contrast ratio" statement (I'd missed that bit myself).
