Need help fixing Windows 7 Ultimate

Hi,
I have a desktop Intel I7 with 16 GB ram with Windows 7 Ultimate. Windows take longer to start, and does not show the "starting windows" logo. Instead, it shows the two attached black screen pictures. I tried a few things to fix it; using the repair disk, windows restore, the installation disk, and finally installing Service Pack 2. I was able to reduce the delay from 10 min. to 5 min. but the black screen stills there. Previously I have dual booting with Windows 2016 server, and was able to delete the entry in msconfig, and delete/format that partition. I do not want to have fresh Windows installation. Any help or suggestion is greatly appreciate,

Another Floridian here..... I had Win-7 Ultimate for several years and then one day it would take over a minute just to go on-line. Everything else seemed to work, but waiting for it to go on-line was more aggravation than I wanted to put up with.


So I just backed up all my data files, to an external drive, and installed Win-7, Pro, x86 from an ISO I got on-line.


I did the clean install to a new SSD and kept the old one for any files I might have missed in the data backup.


Everything is working fine today with the new Win-7, Pro install. I suggest you put all your fears aside and do a clean install.

Can you boot into Advanced Boot Options, and select Last Known Good Configuration?

Try a Repair Install also referred to as an In Place Upgrade
I do them all the time to correct a plethora of Windows issues.

As you can get into Windows:
- Do a check disk. Open a CMD window as administrator and type:
chkdsk C: /f
It will say your disk is in use and if you want to schedule to next boot = yes.
restart
Pay attention on the results, specially bad clusters, bad blocks or bad sectors.

If your disk is healthy, do a Repair-Install
It will reinstall windows to fix your currently installed Windows 7 and preserve your user accounts, data, programs, and system drivers.
For the updates, as an alternative to WU, my suggestion is to set Services - Windows Update - Manual and on WU page set it to Never check.
Then run UpdatePack7R2
Simplix is a single file (750MB) that contain all updates since Win 7 released up to date. It has all security and non security updates without the trash (telemetry and tracking). Very good.
