I am confused a bit as to how to make this work.. I need a program and a batch file to run on a schedule but they have to run under admin rights. First of all my account I sign in under is an admin account but just plain scheduling a program under task scheduler gives mixed results since it apparently doesn't start it in Admin Mode.
This entire fiasco is what I need to download EPG program data for my HTPC. The program that downloads the data is called MC2XML and I have a plain jane batch file that renames the product to a .xml extension for use in Media Portal.
I have searched and found an assortment of ideas but for one reason or another they do not get the results I need.
I don't know what you have tried since you did not say but what you want can be accomplished with The Task Scheduler. The Scheduler allows running a program at Highest Privileges (which means with administrator privileges).
Thanks for the quick reply!! And the tutorial also! Basically what things I have tried have been Task Scheduler or similar.
I tried the Splinter Ware Scheduler version and couldn't get it down like I wanted. The trouble is if these are not ran under Highest Privileges the product output either doesn't populate or it does so somewhere other than the intended location.
I can manually right click and tell it to run under Admin and it'll work fine,so I'm thinking somewhere along the line the level of operation gets altered.
Thanks so much and I'll report back as to how it goes shortly
