Solved network discovery fails, so I have to map shared drives from other pc

On mine, it is turned on, AFAIK, but it never sees any other PC's in the network label of the file manager.
Ideas?
I can map the drive manually.

Fixed completely by doing a new install of win7.

This also fixed extremely long boot up time. Fixed lots more things I suppose I never knew were broken.

It had been so slow to boot, I was looking at upgrading hardware to go from sata2 to sata3.
