I just added a Win 7 home premium pc to my network and the map shows that it only can access one other win 7 netbook. I think it has something to do with homegroups.
I was able to navigate to home pc to add this snip from there. I had to put in the username and password for that machine. mm wonder if now its mapped to this machine?

I tried redoing my network from scratch and setup homegroup first. Now the netbook can see the desktop but the desktop can't see the netbook. Tried running troubleshooter on both and nothing worked.

Think I solved the problem, unfortunately my netbook battery died before I could test it. Aslo the plug melted and shot out some sparks so I won't be able to try it now until I get a replacement. But maybe you can tell me if this would work.
I went to network and sharing center, change adapter settings, right clicked the wireless adapter, properties, and noticed some things were missing. Clicked install tab and installed these.
Was this my problem all along? I'm so mad, Right after I did this the battery died, I plugged the adapter back into it and turned it on. Right when I got to my desktop the plug started smoking and a few sparks came out of it. Just glad my house didn't burn down.
Got My new adapter today and tried it out. hooray! it works, this was the problem all along.
