I purchased a new (Lenovo) laptop 10 months ago. It came with Win7 PRO (x64)
So far I have shrunk the OS drive and activated Windows, and returned the machine into its box.
I have delayed using the PC until I feel confident about updating, especially with the risk of hijacking by Win-10.
But Win-10 threat is dragging on and on.
This forum and the web are full of snippets of do's and dont's with what KBs I am at my wits end.
I cannot find any definitive list of safe (or unsafe) KBs ... there is so much info out there dribbling in piece-meal and constant barrage of threads/articles opinions etc are numbing my brain.
So far I have this list of KBs to avoid ...
- for years I have updated XP-PRO and Win7 Home 32bit machines when I knew (in hindsight) MS were playing fair. Now it is an all out invasion by MS ... and I don't want Win10 !
I have tried to take in comments in Reinstalled twice, but Windows still won't update and all of the tutes (I have found) are 5+ years old.
When I searched this forum for "Updates" there are 71,600 items.
I would appreciate any guidance thank you
