New, never opened windows 7 pro pc purchased in 2017

Hello All: Thanks in advance for any forthcoming advice. I'm looking at buying a Dell Latitude E5250 12.5" Business Ultrabook - Intel i5-4210U/4GB DDR3/500GB HD. Pre-installed OS is Windows 7 Professional.

It is NEW in unopened box. Release date of 2015. I don't know WHEN in 2015, nor do I know how many updates might have already been included in the original OS installation.

My questions are:

1) Is it safe to assume that an installation in 2015 would include all updates released up to that point?

2) When I open the box and turn this on for the first time, I would expect a notification of "updates are available". Is it OK to let the machine do what could potentially be 2+ years worth of updates without harming or crashing this thing right out of the box?

I'm obviously not a tech-wiz by any stretch, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If it's new, I can say that it has no updates.
Turn it on, don't do any update. Open Explorer, right click on Computer - Properties.
On the fist paragraph, see if below Windows Pro it has the Service Pack 1 installed.
If it doesn't have, download and install windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe Download Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (KB976932) from Official Microsoft Download Center

After SP1 is installed, follow the instructions and install the updates from here

- IT ACTUALLY IS UP TO DE UR APPS'S REQUIREMENTS AND NEEDS. NOT NECESSARY TO INSTALL LATEST UPDATE.

- MY SUGGESTIONS WAS "RETAINS DE ORIGINAL OR PRE-INSTALLED ONE".. DONT UPDATE IT UNTIL THEY (APPS) NEEDS IT. (USE AS PER NEED AND DEMAND ONLY)

I'm obviously not a tech-wiz by any stretch, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

With a NEW PC like that, which is already at least two years old. I'd start it up, for the first time, without an internet connection, and as soon as you adjust it to your liking, do a full backup of the C: partition, to either the D: partition or to an external, USB Hard Drive.*

*Make sure that you have 'System Restore' turned ON. Using System Restore, you can easily back out of minor BooBoo's. I use it often on my own PC.

Then you can play around with the Updates and if one trashes Windows, and System Restore doesn't solve the problem for you, you can just do a restore of the backup image file and be back to square ONE. No harm, No foul. At least twice a year, I have to use a Backup Image File to fix something that has messed up my own Windows 7.**

** Even after many years, I still use "Ghost 11.5", run from a DOS boot disk, to do all my backups, clones, etc. It's quick, simple and just works GREAT!
