New Router Setup

I have a Prolink H5004N ( MODEM / ROUTER ) and a Asus RT-AC68U ( ROUTER ONLY ) , I wan't my Prolink H5004N into a MODEM only I called some professionals and they said that I was an Access Point Mode Thingy I don't know what that is so that's why I posted here, So the summary I want my Prolink H5004N (MODEM / ROUTER ) to be a modem only , the professionals said that I have to make it on a Access Point Mode which I don't know how to , please help me ! :huh::huh:

I forgot to mention as always , our router keeps on disconnecting and when it's disconnected from the internet the Phone Line makes this plastic sound....

Called the professionals said that this setup is called Access Point ? don't know what that is...

Well; seeing as how most modems/routers have web based configuration pages; i would log into the config page(s) for the device you want to be a modem and see if there are any check boxes on any pages allowing you to configure it that way. However; it also could be that there might not be a way to do that as a lot of times combination modem/router devices are just that; and there is no way to make them one or the other only.

Also have a pretty bad speaker setup which is a klipsch promedia 5.1 surround speaker setup with huge subwoofer and lg blu ray player/writer. Also a hp officejet pro 8600 plus wireless all in one and a logitech s7500 webcam.

Unfortunately there is none , can you tell me the specific settings to configure like Disable Routing, ...etc.?

It's just a free modem/router when you subscribed to a specific plan..
