Solved Newly built PC BSOD'ing every few days.

Greetings Sevenforums,

I'm in the process of tearing my hair out over what could be causing the issues with this computer I've built, and was looking for advice from someone who is more experienced in the this area of troubleshooting.

The crashes started a day or two after i put together this PC, and have run several Memtests to no avail (no problems found), and went as far as to take the entire PC apart down to removing and replacing the heat sink and thermal paste. In addition, I've swapped out the graphics card with one that i know works, in case that might have been the issue but the BSOD's continue.

I've looked at the 30 or so DMP file but the possible causation seems to be too varied for me to work it out. Would someone with better knowledge of Blue Screen be able to cast their expert eye over them and at least tell me if its a hardware or software issue?

Hi DShore.

It is found in multiple crash dumps that Kaspersky is failing.

Though it might not be the actual reason for the BSODs, but it is better to uninstall Kaspersky using Kaspersky Removal Tool. At least as a test. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

If Kaspersky is not the culprit, and it BSODs even after uninstalling Kaspersky, test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

Let us know the results.

And, as Kaspersky is the prima facie issue, better you keep it uninstalled till the issue is determined with certainty.

Hi Arc, and thank you for looking at my issue. I will wrestle the PC away from the co-worker tomorrow and will check to see if Kaspersky is indeed the culprit. I have run the memtest for 5 passes a week or so ago to no avail, but i will leave it to run overnight and hopefully have 8 or more complete by the morning. I will post back once i have the testing has completed.
