Problem is it wont reboot without going through the whole repair again shutting down and hoping it starts.

As you have a Seagate, you can download the LIVE CD, & run Hd Diagnostic from boot.

Well thanks guys,i stayed up nearly all night on this, took all the ram out, checked all connections replaced ram took battery out, replaced it,then i found out by hitting f8 at start took me into OS but if i hit it after the Intel logo it took me into safe mode etc so used last good config which not only worked but now my memory reads2.75 usable 3.0installed where it read 2.0 before, still no beep at start up but it started:D the only thing i noticed is the ribbon is,nt plugged into floppy disc? But thanks to one and all,
