No Network in "Open File or Folder" dialog?

Huh, what's going on here.
My computer lets me browse the network just fine and even sees everything there is to see. However, when I want to say, mount a DVD from a networked computer for example, the Network icon is nowhere to be found on the Open File or Folder dialog window.

Going back to the root level (from the path bar in the very same window) lets me see all the usual stuff: drives, homegroup and such but once again, no network.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find any solution to this and it seems like a very silly thing to remove from the OS.

I hope it's just me being blind and I really appreciate any information you guys can share on this subject.

(Using Windows 7 RC1 64-bit, in the same network with two Vista 64 computers.)

If you must know, the application in question was Daemon Tools.

However, this doesn't seem to be related to that specific application since neither messenger or windows media player seems to be capable of providing me the option to browse through network resources.

So I'm thinking it's a problem (or hopefully just a bad default option) relating to actual Open File or Folder dialog itself.

is daemon shared from that computer, the VD?

do so, and map

edit:
or the drive/folder location in question...
if you can do this, than there shouldnt be a problem, vice versa... either way, no matter how you do it. As long as things like, having the file type correct and associated etc etc all the little stuff...

Thanks for the reply, but like I said, this is not a problem with mounting a dvd. I can do that by opening my computer then browsing the network and then just clicking the file... but I cannot do it from the application itself because the open file dialog (standard windows one) doesn't have the network folder listed (homegroup is there, though).

This problem is not limited to Daemon Tools. All open file dialogs in all of the programs that I've tried suffer from the lack of network folder!

Same problem here..

Did you find a solution to this? I'm having the same problem from any type of program I attempt to use.

Unfortunately I didn't.
To be honest, I haven't used the Win 7 computer much since the time of the original post. I hope this gets fixed in the RTM since I don't want to run into this after buying it.
