Hi,

FYI, I am a bit of an amateur. I decided that I wanted this cheap dell laptop to run faster, so I used a tool to "strip down" my windows 7 32bit. It worked stupendously well. Everything seems two or three times as fast now as it was before.

BUT, I now have no wifi access. I confirmed that the wifi drivers are installed. They register as "working properly" but I am not finding ANY wifi signals. The problem is within the computer somewhere. Other computers in my home find 5 or 6 signals (as this one used to). The strip down tool also removed the network diagnostics feature of windows 7, so I am without recourse.

I am, however, able to connect to the internet through my iphone (pdanet) being directly connected to my laptop.

I am not sure where these clues should lead, so any help is very much appreciated. What do you think? Thanks!

With any "strip down" you are by default relying on their decisions as to what should be removed or not. You may be chasing your tail for days over this one. I just finished with another user with the exact same problem and it was only resolved after a clean install.

I have zero ways of knowing but if I were you I might attempt a repair install from win 7 dvd, just make sure ou have a restore point and backup in case.
