No sounds on Droid downloads

Our daughter recently bought a Droid phone and is emailing us video clips of our grand daughter. Whether we use Windows media or Quick Time, we can't get any sound. We have no problem viewing and hearing other video clips, e.g. from YouTube. We have a Dell XPS M1330 laptop and Windows 7. What could be the problem and what is the remedy? Thanks!

Hi Renald,
You could try other players. I found out (Google) that VLC player and HandBrake should work with Droid videos. They're both free.

Droid records in 3GP format... the latest Quicktime should play audio, do you have a recent version of QT installed?

Downloaded VLC but got strange error message saying Quote VLC does not support the audio or video format 'samr'. Unfortunately there is no way to fix this. Unquote.

Also downloaded latest Quicktime and that does work.

Thanks everybody for your suggestions.
