Notebook stuck for 2 mins on black screen before booting up

ghnogueira, at some point in the past did you ever execute a small programme that promises to remove Windows Activation Technology?

If you did, there is an antidote in the wild that shall rebuild your MBR. Can't quite recall what it's called. I elected the less stressful option by bricking the bloody machine - HP DV6

Why do you reply to an irrelevancy but ignore the steps we've given you to begin troubleshooting the problem?

hi ghnogueira!

I was wondering, have you ever solved your problem with black screen before booting up? I have the same problem and I suspect on some hardware problem, because it happens before appearance of e-machines logo on my laptop. I wouldn't care for it (computer performances are still good), but I'm scared of some bigger problems later.
I also noticed that fan (an I think it's from CPU) is much louder all time while black screen is on...

It's not brief, that is the problem, it last 2 min at least. I don't know if you think on Windows welcome screen but this happens before even booting, before anything appears on screen. I don't think that Windows installation is the problem here...

Because at the time I wasn't able to properly give the steps a go since I was arriving at home everyday past 11 p.m. to wake up early on the next morning.

Things are just a bit worse now, so I'm still stuck where I was some months ago.

Hey mate, I still haven't. So far things for me performance-wise after the notebook starts is still great. But the problem is just the same, with the note taking up to 2 minutes on the black screen to begin booting up.

I solved the problem. Whit enormous help of gregrocker.
Recently I've started to use a wireless mouse. When his usb is in port this problem appears, but when I unplugged him computer starts to boot without delay.
@ ghnogueira: try with last tip from gregrocker, about Automatically get recommended drivers and updates for your hardware, you may find a solution.
Thank you gregrocker for tips. And you ghnogueira for posting this topic.
Cheers!

Great things worked out for you, mate! I'll try removing my mouse's (Logitech Unifying Device) usb from the notebook when I arrive at home. But it's a weird thing as I have Logitech mice on my notebooks for a long time, and even on this one I used the unifying device long before I began having the black screen problem.

Ha! BINGO!

Mine wasn't the Logitech USB plug, but a Bluetooth dongle I bought some time ago and never noticed!

Thanks a lot for all the help, everyone!
