Slightly off topic

I have a question. I installed the new Intel Drivers and in the Rapid Storage Technology It seems to imply that 16kb is the recommended stripe size for a SSD RAID0. I just had to try it and have now switched back to 128kb as it is faster anyone know why?

When I was changing my stripe size I made an image on a USB3 drive. I already know that I can boot from this drive, but it never occurred to me that I cant use it to play back an image :shock: that is not until I plug it into a USB2 port :huh:

As a side note I don't know why it's so hard for OCZ to make their toolbox compatible with Intel's RST 10 drivers. Not like these drivers just came out.

FYI, the newer 10.5.0.1015 and 10.5.0.1022 that just came about see the drive with the toolbox now.
intel drivers pour Raid/Sata/Ata/Ahci

They're not WHQL, but I've used both and they are working fine for me.

Just run toolbox as admin.

There are WHQL 10.1.5.1001 (a little older than above mentioned) out now for anyone interested in just using WHQL ones. Probably will pop up on Intel in a few days or so. You can get them here now though.

Well I just got the RST 10.5.0.1015 drivers directly from Gigibyte's website and all is fine. I don't use RAID.

Oh and the latest version of OCZ Toolbox does seem to work with the RST 10.5.0.1015 drivers, though I haven't did the firmware update yet since it's the OS drive in use.

BTW I ran this utility whs posted about and these results seem interesting to me.....



I notice the work time says 20 months, 20 days, and 11 hours despite the fact I've had the drive since Dec 2010 and only did one secure erase. Looks pretty good to me.
