Greetings! I've been trying to change the ram my old Acer Aspire x3910 (OEM) and I've run into a few problems along the way: The mobo is a wg43m with latest bios according to acer support the Ami P01-B2. So ,originally it had 2 samsung sticks 2x2gb ddr3 1333mhz PC3-10660 cl9 M378B5773DH0-CH9. Those run at dual channel at 667mhz each. (Despite the fact that acer claims that the supported ram is 1066mhz.) The new rams I purchased are 2 Kingston ValueRAM 2GB DDR3-1333MHz (KVR13N9S6/2) has the same features, yet it isn't accepted from the mobo and keeps beeping. So I thought I should change bios settings, but to my dismay I didn't find any ram settings in the bios, or any overclocking options for that matter!
Unfortunately the old rams and the recommended ones from Crucial are out of reach in my country, and the kingston ones are the closest (and cheapest) option available.
Has anyone successfully upgraded a wg43m mobo before? If I reset the CMOS settings, is there a chance that it harms my PC?
