Oldest "Dinosaur" Running Win7

USB boot? May not be possible on old computers... ALTHOUGH MS says minimum RAM is 1 GB, 7 can actually BOOT up with only 100 MB RAM(RC stage and tested in Virtualbox!)... But the RAM is STILL low, but if you want to give it a spin, take out an IDE DVD reader/burner connect it up AND BOOM! 7! but the graphic card drivers may not be available which will cause annoying lags... BUT 4 testing y not. and make sure you have enough HD space... My old comp (Pentium 2) only has 5 GB HD... no 7 there... coz no space

Hey, you kidding me? Pentium 2 is [highlight]NOT[/highlight] compatible with Win7. You need Pentium 4 or higher. And Win7 might work for you in your VPC because it's virtual. Win7 at least needs 300 MB of RAM or so...I've seen it somewhere....and Win7 32bit takes up [HIGHLIGHT]ONLY[/HIGHLIGHT] 6 GB of HDD Space!!

Maybe it can run on P3, but are you sure it can run on P2? That's extremely low isn't it?

I have a Pentium 3 with 663 MHZ (extreme edition)
320 MB of ram
400 gig HDD + 40 gig HDD (only thing that is special)
ATI Radeon with 64 mb of gfx
....
I tried installing the starter edition of Win 7....major FAIL lol...it was slower than XP is currently which is by far very slow....It took approx 30 mins to open a file
I got Dino-pwnd but it was worth the try
I was 9 years overdue for an upgrade....I recently got my new parts
so now it's much better ^_^

basically went from a public bathroom to a Royal executive's restroom (this is the only analogy I was able to come up with to explain the difference)

LOL... I KNEW 7 could run on Pentium 2's HAHAHAHA.... But I think coz its a dual processor machine+512 MB RAM, THATS Y he could run it... But hey i WASN'T Lying abt 7 can 'boot with only 100 MB RAM.. I tried it. Ask someone who is running 7 in virtualized environment to set their Win 7 VM with 100 MB RAM... It ill boot but too sluggish for ANYTHING ELSE! BTW, im runing on P4 3.0 Ghz + 1 GB RAM [host] which is painfully slow to Virtualize anything above XP, dont think i tryed 7 in virtualBOX with quad core... ). And my Seagate 500 GB [7200.11] decided to die (google it, very common prob with this model), so i can't show you a screenshot... Believe me... I wouldn't lie for a computer topic....

The thing is the mobo... I don't think the BIOS is programmed to boot on USB. And, it's USB 1.1 (= slow as hell install).
