Seems to.... The Beta forum I read yesterday had no major issues listed.

Hi there

I really don't think 95% of HOME USERS have ANY problems with VIRUSES.
MALWARE however is a totally different issue and is these days MUCH MORE IMPORTANT.

Now if you could find and test a DECENT system for checking MALWARE that does PREVENTATIVE checking (I.E BEFORE the fact) rather than REACTIVE (find out AFTER the fact which means you have to schedule a scan every so often) that would be of far more value than testing zillions of AV products out there for a problem which doesn't really exist too much any more.

A decent PREVENTATIVE Malware system WOULD be worth while finding.

Rootkit (now not so much of a problem any more) and Malware infections created by drive by infections are the things to concentrate on now.

Most of the "classical" AV software isn't ANY GOOD whatsoever at testing for these and now MS has entered the ring and giving away MSE for NOTHING I suspect a lot of the older companies which charge for their AV software and load the system with overhead will be I suspect "not long for this world".

Malware prevention becomes even more important when we start thinking about "Cloud Computing" since nearly everything will be done in browsers in RAM and very little actually done on the local hardware.

Cheers
jimbo

I usually prefer firewall that comes within internet security softwares. I will try Online Armor when they release the 64bit version. :)

I run their Free Version because I'm POOR and believe in Free software. :D

Avast free... AdAware Free... WinDefender Free... WinPatrol Free.... SpyBot Search & Control Free... plus my Brain to think before I click... also Free... And I have NEVER (Knock Wood) had any kind of Virus, Malware, Adware, Spyware... No Ware.. No How !!!

Plus a Hardware Firewall in my Modem/Router... Snug as a bug in a Rug!

But they do have a Security Suite Version for you guys that have loose change to spare.

Check their site! Read the reviews!
