Solved open file security warning on jpeg's

New here so not sure how to post but i'll give it a shot!

Have been running 7 32bit for a couple of weeks now and had a few issues but most i've managed to sort, today however when going into my downloaded pics folder and trying to view them with my usual pic viewer(nero snapshot viewer) which has had no issues so far, it now puts up the "Open file security warning" window every time with only the option to not ask again for the specific file! It's driving me nuts as i need to open several hundred per day as part of my work and cannot see why it has all of a sudden started doing this or how to stop it!!!

Some posts suggest "UAC" but it's been disabled since ms threw it at us, others suggest security in IE but doesn't make a difference to explorer files!!

Please can anyone suggest a solution for my problem, many many many thanks to any who reply, matt.

Tried that, comes up with :- Cannot import C:\users\matt\desktop\allowall.reg The specified file is not a registry script. You can only impory binary registry files from within the registry editor.

Tried this earlier, but thanks anyway.

Well, you can make those modifications manually in Regedit. Have you tried that?

Could you explain some of the most recent issues you say you've addressed with your system? That may give us some insight as to how this current problem has come about.

For the record, it's going to be hard to diagnose if you've had system infection problems as you state you've disabled UAC which is rarely a good fix for anything and often does you more harm than good.

Hello Vinalspin, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Whenever you download something, Windows will usually have it set as "Blocked" until you unblock it as a security measure. This is why you would have to click on "Run" when prompted before Windows will allow the file to run or be opened.

If this is the issue, then after the file has been downloaded into a user folder (ex: Downloads or Desktop), right click on the file, click on Properties, click on the Unblock button (if there) under the General tab to unblock the file.

If the file is not in any one of your user folders, then you will not be able to unblock it as above unless it's moved into a user folder.

Thanks for the suggestion about unblocking, it will work that way but i would still have to do it to 12 thousand images individually, and that's something near impossible just on a time basis alone never mind the loss of my will to live!
What i want to know is how to stop windows from security checking them to start with, this only started yesterday, before that i have been able to view any and all of them at will without it doing that, in the 9 hours between i did nothing to the system in any way whatsoever, i wasn't even connected to the web, surely windows has found a reason to start this process, how can i stop it doing that?

Thanks to bill2, that post had one suggestion about local intranet setting, seems to have worked to stop it checking new downloads, will let you know how it goes for previous files, many thanks for all your efforts, gold stars all round!
