Outlook Express Importing

I have Windows 7 Professtional x64. I have installed Windows XP mode. How do I get all of my mail, address book, settings and messages from OE in the win 7 to OE in the xp mode?

I'd be somewhat surprised if that's possible.

Are you implying that you now have OE running fine on Win 7 in any mode whatsoever?

Outlook Express on WinXP and earlier stored in files named for the Folders and with the extension of .dbx. The contacts were stored in Windows Address Book with the file extension of .wab. Both files could be used for Import on various programs. I'd get OE Classic and install on a later version of Windows and Import those files I mentioned. What I use is the free version. Thanks for the pointer to that app. I had not heard of it. I use Thunderbird and so far so good, but I always like to have a fallback if Tbird becomes a problem.

I assume there's no free version and that it is $25?

Any issues generally, particularly on importing messages from some other email app (such as Thunderbird)? If I can't easily import, it's a no-go.

I got the free version. Never used Thunderbird but don't know about importing from it, do know that folks have difficulties with Thunderbird and IncrediMail when trying to change E-Mail Clients so based upon your requirements there may be no easy solution. Side note: I have to assist a client in changing from Windows Live Mail to Outlook next week, really not looking forward to that in saving messages.

OK; thanks for that; I did not locate the free version, so I'll have another look.

Yeah, email is a pain. Going from one app to another remains as much of an issue as it was 15 years ago apparently. No progress on the import/export front and just as liable to result in frustration.

It was working on my win 7 but now occasionally when I open it up it just sits there and when I try to click on anything it just says not responding. I have everything backed up with Easy Outlook Express Backup but I can't restore from it being loaded on win 7. I assume if I install it on xp mode then what is backed up will not be there on the installation in xp mode.
