If I click on a web page desktop icon the page always comes up half page, ie full width but only half height, I have to click maximize to get a normal full view. It does this with all sites from desktop but not when launching programs from desktop - they come up maximized. Thank you.

The page will need time to learn,, but try this
Click on the icon, properties, open maximized.
Open the page, stretch it to full size. Make it full size from using the upper right square on the page. Close from file tab, exit.
You will need to do this until the page learns.

To be honest, this question is older, at the forum, than any other. I have found with persistence, the computer does finally learn, but may forget, at a later date.

This also can often work:

Open the IE window normally> Drag the corners of the window until it fills the screen> While holding down the Ctrl key (keep holding it down), click on File, then Exit on the menu bar in upper left.

Don't close it using the X in the upper right, use this method. If it doesn't change, this can also work using the shift key instead of the Ctrl.

Good luck, this "problem" is as old as the internet :)
