Panda Cloud Antivirus 1.01 Released

Today we are releasing a new version of Panda Cloud Antivirus, version 1.0.1. This version is basically a cumulative-fix release which incorporates Hotfix-1, Hotfix-2 and some small additional improvements.
The most notable improvement is that we have gotten rid of the initial account registration which used to be mandatory for first-time installs. Panda Cloud Antivirus will not ask for account during install anymore.

I went to download it and here's what Norton says:

Well you've used Panda cloud antivirus before. What do you think? Panda's a reputable AV company, I doubt it's unsafe. I don't get any warnings. Could just be a FP from your Norton toolbar.

Yep that's truly a FP. Installed Panda cloud AV and running it without any issues.

If the Norton site advisor app/program thing is anything like WOT, any Joe can report any site as being unsafe. Doesn't mean it is though.

No its not like WOT but its strange that they can make such a big mistake.

BTW, I dont understand 2 things from Panda Cloud AV.

1: What if I am NOT connected to internet and I put an infected flash drive on my PC? Will it still be able to protect me?

2: How does this AV update itself?

Panda is using only around 8 MB RAM when idle. That's nice.
I always like those AV who uses RAM below 15 MB.


Yes I know RAM is very cheap. Still I feel that an AV should not use more than 15-20 MB RAM and should deliver the best performance within this limit.

Cloud-based antivirus do not protect while offline
While this might be true of some cloud-based antivirus implementations, in the case of Panda Cloud Antivirus it is not true. Panda Cloud Antivirus has a local cached copy of the Collective Intelligence cloud servers.
